COVID-19 ADVICE

Hello to all our valued guests

On 30 January 2020, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, following the advice of the Emergency Committee convened under the International Health Regulations (2005), declared the current outbreak of COVID-19 a public health emergency of international concern and issued Temporary Recommendations. The Committee asked the Director-General to provide further advice on these matters and, if necessary, to make new case-by-case recommendations, in view of this rapidly evolving situation.

As a business who operates within the tourism and hospitality  sector, we are operating closely with both local government advice and international health advice from the World Health Organisation to ensure we operate in compliance with preventing the spread of the Coronavirus. The health and safety of our guests and staff is our number one priority.

We have been advised that international travel is no longer available but that travel within South Africa remains open. Our business will remain open at this time and below is detail on how we are operating to ensure the safety of our guests. NB : In consideration of these straightened times for everyone as a result of Covid19, Tiree B&B has reduced their prices.

Flexibility on your travel Plans

​

Individual Reservations

  • Tiree BnB guests who have made bookings from any international destination travelling to South Africa will be able to modify their reservations free of charge or receive a full refund for cancellation, where applicable. This is valid for bookings made directly with Tiree BnB from our brand website (www.tireebnb.co.za)  Please contact us directly to modify or cancel your reservations. admin@tireebnb.co.za 

  • For bookings made through a travel intermediary (e.g. travel agents, OTAs), please contact your booking provider for assistance.

  • For new reservations, we recognise the need for flexibility in your travel plans as well. We  offer flexible rates that will now allow you to amend your booking up to three days prior to your arrival. This is valid for bookings made directly with the Tiree BnB.

  • Group Bookings: We understand there is a challenge to many groups of people trying to move through Johannesburg or change travel, we are more than happy to consider your immediate needs and will do our best to accomodate you. However please be aware of the recommendation of social distancing and  if you are sharing a room with someone, please take every opportunity to practice safe hygiene and social distancing. 

 

Our Clean & Hygiene practice at Tiree BnB

  • We have stepped up precautionary measures within the BnB and cottage as the safety of our guests and employees our number one priority. We take the utmost care to ensure every stay with us is safe, clean and comfortable.

The cleaning measures include:

  • Rigorous cleaning and sanitisation of guest rooms.

  • Frequent sanitisation of high-contact points, such as bathrooms, door handles and light switches.

  • Hand sanitisers placed in guest bedrooms

  • Regular training of our staff ensuring proper hand hygiene and awareness of COVID-19. This is vital to help combat the spread of viruses and the health of our employees and guests.

  • We care for our guests and employees by introducing additional measures to safeguard their wellbeing. Our employees have been briefed on the guidelines provided by the World Health Organization and local health authorities. They are ready to render assistance to any guest that may feel unwell.

Self-Isolation

​

  • If you would like to Self isolate during your stay at Tiree BnB, we offer the WildThyme suite which has a private entrance and patio and desk for working space for you to work remotely or enjoy a home from home private accomodation. 

  • We are happy to offer you catering in your room.

We welcome our guests to Tiree BnB with the same warmth and hospitality we have always done. While the COVID-19 outbreak is a precipitously changing and fluid situation, we are committed to keeping you informed and to care for you as a valued guest.

 

SOUTH AFRICAN TOURISM UPDATE 

The latest measures announced by the South African government include:

  • Travel bans for foreign nationals from high risk countries effective from 18 March 2020.

  • High-intensity screening for travellers from medium-risk countries.

  • Closure of 35 land and 2 sea ports effective from Monday 16 March 2020.

  • Encouraging social distances by prohibition of gatherings of more than 100 people.

  • South Africa has 72 ports of entry in the country which are land, sea and air ports
